About Flagstaff

FlagstaffFlagstaff is one of the most desirable places to live in Arizona. But this is only if you can handle extreme weather changes. Due to its elevation of 6,910 feet, Flagstaff offers moderate temperatures in the summer and uncharacteristically cold temperatures for southern Arizona in the winter. Believe it or not, Flagstaff has one of the highest snow accumulation totals in the United States. However, the snow has a tendency to melt quickly.

The population of Flagstaff is only 60,222. This low population total is part of the reason it’s such a desirable location. The unpredictable weather is what keeps so many people away. The weather does not keep vacationers away, though. Flagstaff is an extremely popular vacation destination for those traveling in the southwestern United States.

There are many exciting attractions in Flagstaff, AZ. One is the Lowell Observatory. At the Lowell Observatory, you will have a chance to use a large telescope, take part in interactive presentations, watch movies about Mars, hear amazing stories about the sky, and meet astronomers. Another popular attraction in Flagstaff is Walnut Canyon National Monument. The elevation at this park is 6,690 feet, but it descends as much as 350 feet to the floor of the canyon. There is a .9-mile trail that will allow you to view what the Sinagua people once called home. Other attractions in Flagstaff include Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, Thorpe Park Center, and Arizona Snowbowl.
